How to put the English theory you learned into classroom           teaching&learning?

 Hello, everyone. it's my honor to be here and show myspeech about how I put the English theory into my class.

I like reading,I have read a book "How to teach English?"which written by Jeremy Harmer.He told us to be a good

teacher first, and here's a question "What makes a good

teacher?"

Firstly, The book says, a good teacher should have an   ability to give interesting classes,using the range of their personality.

So, in class,I often start with songs or stories, integratingwords,sounds and pictures to create a situation for studentsto take the initiative to participate in communication,   when students fall into the situation, it's easier for them

to understand and perform, with the active atmosphere  in class.

Secondly, Jeremy Harmer mentioned that researched the kind of language teachers use with students, it should atall times be comprehensible and especially when giving  

instructions, it should be clear and well staged.

So I learned instructions from the book which named   <The Standards of English Curriculum>,Such as:Your turn! Follow me, once again and sometimes I use my body   

language to help them understand, for example, when I ask them to match or underline something, I will use thechalk to match or underline with gestures.

Finally,I learned a theory about that, concentrating on theteacher's ability to respond flexible to what happens in  class,even while attempting to follow a pre-arranged plan.

During our spare time, we should read more cases abouthow to deal with classroom emergency.

As a teacher, this is the beginning of my teaching career,I still need to learn more theories of the new curriculumreform and apply it to teaching practice, constantly enrichmy English class!

What is your favourite song?

My favourite song is:5 hundred miles. It's a folk song with catchy rhythm  It sang by many famous singers. ( the brothers four, Hedy West), from the song, we get the feeling of homesick. Now I can sing the song for you.

What is your favourite book?

My favourite book is ZengGuofan which written by Tang Haoming.

We know Zeng Guofan is a hero in China, and from this book ,I know why he could be a hero.

First, he is good at employing ,he has many educated friends and some have special skills.

Second, he is good at leading the army, He organized an army which called xiang yong. He led them to get a lot of victories.

And he is very thrifty and modesty. He asked his family to do what he does.

After reading, I know we should work hard, get some educated friends and be modesty.

 Can you say something about your group work?

group work is a cooperative activity, 4students discussing a topic, doing role play or solving a problem,in groups students tend to participate more equally. Pairwork has many of the same advantages, they get in to pairs and start working on a problem or talking about something,both pair work and group work give the students chances for greater independence.

So I always have some pair works or group works in class, such as ask and answer, discuss in pairs, role play, I give them some seconds to practice or discuss, and then ask them to show their dialogue or ideas, Using this way to focus on what to teach.

And sometimes, they have some homework in groups, for example, when I teach Unit 3 Asking the way, I ask 4ss in a group, and draw the map of Aoyuan Street. And they show their map in class, they are very active !

 solo work allows students to work at their own speed, allows them think time, allows them, in short, to be individuals.

What makes a good teacher in your mind？

In my mind ,a good teacher should have 5 traits

firstly, Love！a good teacher must love students, a teacher should love teaching and the students, she is willing to work hard. Because love can be achieved.

Secondly, Patience! As a primary school teacher , we face to the pupils every day, and you know they are very naughty and curious about everything, so they will have some mistakes in our daily life, and we should give them more patience, wait for flowers to bloom.

Then, Respect! every kid has his own mind , so we should respect their ideas and behavior, treats them as an adult, I think they would like to be our friends!

And I still need to learn more theories of the new curriculum reform and apply it to teaching practice, constantly enrich my English class!

 How to deal with classroom emergency?

I went to them and ask them to calm down, then I told them to tell me what happened after class, then I continue my class.

After class, I ask them to my office and know the truth, then they realize their mistake, and apology to each other.

So when something happened in class, don't be nervous, if you can deal with it, we should ask them to calm down and then continue our teaching, if you can't deal with it, you should call the headteacher or headmaster to come and help you.
