How to put the English theory you learned into classroom teaching and learning?
The New English Curriculum Standards aim to promote quality education and the all-round development of the students. It emphasizes students’ ability rather than the transmission of knowledge. It requires us to develop students’ comprehensive language competence.
According to these aims and requirements, I take some measures in these three methods.
Teaching methods
Now teachers can’t only pay attention to knowledge’s transmission. Students are put at the centre of the class and individual differences are respected.
In class, besides using multimedia to attract students attention, I always put the students’ participation at the important place. I encourage students to express opinions, and let them participate actively into classes.
After class, I prefer to assign some creative homework, drawing some pictures, mind maps and making cards. Moreover, I always improve students listening, speaking and reading skills by Internet resources and mobile apps, such as 17zuoyue and Fun dubbing.
Students’ learning methods
The New Curriculum asks us to improve students’ cooperative, investigative and thinking abilities. While group work can help them get a lot from it. In my class, students are divided into groups of six. Some are active, some are sky, and some are capable. When they have group work, they always help each other, and and cooperate.
Evaluation methods
The New Curriculum also encourage varied forms of evaluation. We should focus on leaning process rather than results, judge on language performance rather than knowledge.
Comparing with the grades, I pay more attention to students’ growth. I evaluate students by integrating system. When students do well, they can get bonus points and change for prize. In that way, individual differences are respected.
要说这个春暖花开的三月让我印象最深的事是什么,那就是上周经历的演讲比赛了。上周我有幸与金老师一同代表英语组参加区里的演讲比赛,领略了中小学英语老师们的演讲风采。老师们或沉稳或活泼,或精彩演绎,或娓娓道来,总之自信又有风度的他们是我最难忘的又羡慕的人。
要说自己的表现,前面部分的演讲我自认为表现尚可,我结合PPT自然流畅地向大家介绍我是如何将所学的英语理论运用于教学的。只是第二部分的随机问答,我一开始有点没听懂评委的问题,并且在回答时好像也没有那么得流畅和全面,感觉自己在思维反应和答题技巧方面还有很多提升的空间。当然,我也庆幸自己在平日里没有完全地忽略英语基本功的练习,我会通过轻客每天阅读国内外各种资讯并进行口语打卡,让自己了解大千世界,提高英语口语水平。我认为,驱动我前行的动力就是我的学生,我们在督促他们学习、教育他们的同时,自己也要成长,要竭尽所能将自己向上向善的一面展现给他们,同时将视角放置更广阔的的世界。
其实,通过本次参赛,我最想对自己说的就是:真好,可以去看看外面的世界;幸好,我还在学习。
